The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire has been recognized for its sustainability efforts, achieving a silver rating in the Sustainability Tracking, Assessment & Rating System (STARS) designation from the Association for the Advancement for Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE). Lily Strehlow, the campus sustainability coordinator, highlighted the collaborative efforts that led to this achievement, stating, "Stakeholders from across campus worked hard to attain the silver rating." Strehlow expressed excitement about the university's high score in the research credit section, emphasizing the dedication of faculty and students to addressing sustainability challenges.

UW-Eau Claire's commitment to sustainability is further evidenced by its 2025 strategic plan, which aims to integrate sustainability into curricula and practices across disciplines. Initiatives such as the creation of the Administrative Office of Sustainability and the addition of a full-time sustainability coordinator reflect the university's dedication to fostering a culture of sustainability among its community.

In addition to its sustainability efforts, UW-Eau Claire continues to focus on academic excellence and innovation. The university will honor Dr. Richard Helmers and Dr. Tim Nelson with honorary doctorates of science, while also offering programs such as "Transforming Teams and Organizations Through Equity, Diversity and Inclusive Leadership" and "Geriatric Mental Health" through UW-Eau Claire Continuing Education.

Furthermore, UW-Eau Claire will celebrate the research and creative achievements of over 500 students during the upcoming Celebration of Excellence in Research and Creative Activity. This event will showcase the diverse scholarly work of Blugold students, highlighting the university's commitment to academic excellence and student success.
