UW-Eau Claire is currently hosting the 2024 Celebration of Excellence in Research and Creative Activity (CERCA), where over 500 students are presenting their research projects. Dr. Erica Benson, the executive director of the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs, expressed her awe at the quality of the students' work, stating, "Research projects that students engaged in during the academic year and summer are incredibly impressive."

The event features a wide range of activities, including poster exhibitions and oral presentations. Dr. Benson highlighted the collaborative nature of many projects, noting partnerships with organizations like Mayo Clinic Health System and local businesses.

One student, Morgan Dekan, a third-year economics major, is showcasing multiple research projects at CERCA. Dekan's enthusiasm for research is evident as she explores various topics across different disciplines. She described the experience of seeing different departments share their work as "a cool experience."

Dekan expressed her admiration for her peers' dedication, stating, "It is super impressive to see all the hard work my peers have been putting into their work and I know it’s super rewarding to get to share the work we have been doing."

The week-long event celebrates the achievements of student researchers at UW-Eau Claire, reflecting the university's commitment to fostering a culture of research and creativity among its students.
